When I was young, soft pretzels and ice cream used to be uncommon treats I got to enjoy every now and them. The only limitation was my parents. Now that I’m an adult, this limitation is no longer present. I can eat whatever I want whenever I want. However, due to my autoimmune disease, I now have to be the limitation that my parents used to be, as these foods now have a good chance of wrecking my body. It’s weird how one barrier gives way to reveal another.

In any case, I got to have a soft pretzel and ice cream yesterday for the first time in about a year. I’d like to say I’m pleased to report that my body suffered no major flareup as a result, but I think it’s just because I had one earlier this week and my disease seems to have a “cooldown” period before it can start up again. For now, I suppose it’s back to avoiding gluten and fried stuff.

Progress continues to be made on the Cosmic front. I’ve combined by How to Play guide with my design page to reduce the page jumping. My alien total has passed 25% completion (60+ aliens), meaning I just need to do everything I’ve already done three more times and I’ll have a full set of aliens. I’ll definitely need to get some form of searching/indexing in place before then, and break the section up into multiple pages. Even if the desktop form could handle all 200+ aliens on one page, that’d be torture for mobile users. I want to get to 70 by the end of the month. Should be straightforward since I have the assets made. Just need to do the writeup.

I’ve got a goal planned for my tabletop project. I’ve done the design work, and I want to get a prototype set up by the end of the month as well. Don’t think it’ll be ready to demo on this site yet, but it’ll definitely help me see what I need to do next. As I’ve said a few times now, I have to make sure it’s fun to both design and simulate at its base level. It’s like a pizza. If you stack a bunch of tasty toppings on it, it still won’t be that enjoyable if you’re working with substandard crust, cheese, and sauce.

Alongside these projects, I’ve been developing my two comics. I still wanted to get started on the second comic next month if possible, but if it doesn’t work out I’ll double back to getting started on Wakeup Call chapter 3. Whichever I work on, I’m hoping I’ll make something entertaining for you.

Okay, time to go take a walk outside. Too beautiful to stay indoors all morning. Make the most!
