The site has received yet another upgrade. The aliens section of my Cosmic Encounter zone is now up and running. As my Cosmic is in a constant state of flux, it will likely change many times before seeing a semi-permanent state. I’m still debating what terms to go with for many of the game mechanics to set the right tone. I’m definitely looking to maximize immersion, so I’m trying to understand how the game mechanics work in a more literal fashion to help with that. To any Cosmic fans out there, my aliens use a lot of terminology that does not exist in the base game, so you may need to check out the page on my design in order to translate how it works. It may seem as though I have overcomplicated the system, but as I see it I have merely made bare the complexity the game already has. I may need to retread some of the ground the developers already paved to get a simpler result.
In other news, the site urls have been upgraded. They are now much more user-friendly and shareable. I can say that my commission info is at magerblutooth.com/commissions, which is much easier to remember than whatever it was before. It’s also helping with my Cosmic aliens section, as now it’s easy to guess what the url is to a specific alien just by recognizing the pattern.
I do really like the look of my new Cosmic alien template. I checked how it looks on both mobile and tablet, as well as desktop, so hopefully it doesn’t break on any of those.
In terms of what’s to come, I do have one more special treat planned for the end of the month. It may not be posted before the month is over, but I plan to have it done by my next blog post. You can expect the next blog post to have some more info on it. Make the most!
