Good news on the Wakeup Call front. Since I’m not spending as much time playing Monster Train, I’ve been able to make some great progress on chapter 3. For the rest of this month, my plan is to try and churn out at least 3 panels per day. That should give me plenty of leg room to fix any hanging issues at the end. I’ve also been really diving into the lore and backstory to make sure everything in the past makes sense for the pieces to fall in the present. Hopefully I can divulge that information in a very non-intrusive manner. It’s also been fun to commission other artists to draw some fanart of my series, to bounce my ideas off other people and see how they hold up through a different lens.
Of course, even if I do finish Wakeup Call, I won’t be that satisfied if I let my simulator and Cosmic alien work fall by the wayside. Fortunately, I am very much ahead on both of those. I only have about 7 aliens left to make, and I’m only a few features away from getting a working framework to simulate some combat. I’ll work some more monkey grease into those two projects alongside my Wakeup Call work, but the latter definitely needs the most of my focus.
I also got Spiritfarer recently. It’s like a mixture of Wind Waker, Animal Crossing, and Stardew Valley, but it also has some Metroidvania elements to it. The gameplay loop isn’t that interesting, so I’m not sure how much more I’ll play of it. I think I still spent more time playing Monster Train. I do hope MT gets another update. It’s still got a lot more potential in terms of what can be done with it.
Okay, back to drawing. Make the most!
