I wanted to take the time to express my gratitude that I’m not in pain right now. I’ve had some chronic pain issues off and on again for the past year or so, and I want to appreciate the times where nothing is throbbing or aching. Cherish those moments, as comfort is a luxury that money can only buy for so long.
My Cosmic section is up to 35 aliens! I’ve officially reached the number of aliens that Cosmic Encounter Online had before it closed down. It’s 14% of the total count, which means I only need to do all the work I’ve done so far about 8 more times to reach a state of completion. I’ve also updated my design section to compress the different sections. That way you don’t have to scroll all the way to the bottom to access a particular section. I’ll definitely need to expand the section on my rules as I develop the details that distinguish my Cosmic from the official version. That’ll probably get its own page. I’ll definitely need to have the terminology down by the time I reach 50+ aliens. It’s going to become a chore to rewrite everything after that point, so I should make sure I like how everything reads. I’m still trying to figure out the best way to group aliens into sections for easy searching. Ideally I’d like to have a search bar and a database for easy searching. That way I can group them using whatever metric I want. Short of that, I’ll probably group them alphabetically so users can easily find the alien they’re looking for.
I’m doing some behind-the scenes work on Wakeup Call. The plan right now is to make some reference sheets this month and draw out the second chapter next month. I’ve got some ideas on how I want to write it, but I need to figure out some finer details of the greater world. I’ve also got another unrelated project in the works that I’m hoping to develop more in the coming weeks. That one’s much further away from completion, so it might be awhile before it gets a full blog post about it.
That’s all for now. Enjoy the weather, and make the most!
